After suffering from highly debilitating Long COVID (ME/CFS) symptoms for more than three and a half years, Joëlle had reached a point where she had been told there was no known cure and that this may simply be the way life would remain indefinitely.
Then, after learning of the remarkable outcomes achieved by several long-term Long COVID (ME/CFS) sufferers from the Netherlands who had travelled to Australia for Ken Ware’s NeuroPhysics Therapy (NPT), Joëlle and her devoted husband Gijsbert courageously made the journey to Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia, to begin treatment with NPT founder Ken Ware.
Within just two days of commencing treatment, Joëlle began experiencing positive changes. By the end of the first week, she expressed that she felt as though she had her life back again.
Over the following weeks, Joëlle rapidly progressed toward enjoying life in ways that had once seemed impossible — even participating in surfing lessons by the end of Week 4.
In this emotionally moving and compelling video, you will witness Joëlle sharing her excitement and gratitude for what she has achieved, alongside the heartfelt reflections of her proud husband as they discuss the dramatic changes they experienced together despite the previously bleak prognosis they had received.
The effectiveness of NeuroPhysics Therapy stems from founder Ken Ware’s decades-long devotion to studying human behaviour and gaining a deep understanding of how the nervous system interacts with the environment at an extraordinarily subtle level.
Through this work, Ken identified the importance of harmonious communication between major brain networks involved in perception, emotional regulation, attention, and behavioural responses during healthy psychophysical functioning. In cases such as Long COVID (ME/CFS), these networks can become locked into maladaptive protective patterns that continue reinforcing illness responses long after the original triggering events.
Within NeuroPhysics Therapy, this is referred to as the “default response.”
Modern neuroscience is now increasingly recognising the importance of what is termed Triple Network Dysfunction — involving the Default Mode Network, Salience Network, and Central Executive Network — concepts that strongly align with observations Ken Ware has presented schematically during international science conferences dating back as far as 2010.
During NPT sessions, patients learn how to identify their own unique default response patterns while engaging in processes designed to assist the nervous system to regain more adaptive and harmonious network behaviour. In some cases, these changes can begin occurring remarkably quickly.
Ken Ware will be presenting his latest work relating to Triple Network Dysfunction and Long COVID (ME/CFS) at the forthcoming International Neurology and Brain Disorders Conference in Barcelona this June.
